Welcome to my website! 

I am an Assistant Professor of Political Science and International Relations at Nazarbayev University. I received my Ph.D. in 2018 from the University of Missouri and my B.A. from Coe College in 2013. I also currently serve as Vice-Chair of the Human Rights Section of the International Studies Association (ISA)

My research interests include foreign policy, international organizations, political economy, and human rights, with a particular focus on the United Nations system, atrocity prevention, and energy politics. My work has been published in Conflict Management and Peace Science, International Interactions, Journal of Human Rights, Public Choice, and Research and Politics, among others. I also enjoy contributing regularly to The Diplomat, where I focus on Central Asia's foreign policy.
